DRAFT MINUTES
Chairman Robert King called the meeting to order at 7:11 pm.
The group approved June minutes as presented.
Chairman King presents new representatives.

Scott, CH2MHILL, gave out worksheet on building of the 46-bridge area map and bar chart containing critical milestones in the project. Draft report on what they will be able to do will be available in 6-7 weeks. Plans for the public workshop, which will allow for public involvement and draft reports, will be available at this time. At this public hearing Corp report will not be final so they will only be able to present alternatives. Preliminary cost reports may be available by October. Scott said that all agencies will be contacted on what ways the habitats will be effected in the construction of the bridge.
Ed Hayes, FWCC, says that "the cookie cutter" has done two miles in 60 hours with 500 hours contracted. Consultant with the dredging says report on project should be finished by the end of the month and everything goes as planned. Ed brought color maps showing different sediment levels. Shoreline restoration project at Marl Bed Flats has been postponed due to continuous rain. Will return to in the winter when water level is down.
Chairman King tells that SGTV is preparing a video that is featuring the lake and the surrounding area and FLJ has been to asked to participate.
WAV is producing PowerPoint presentation and is to have a part on the Lake would like help from the group.
Chairman King inquires group on how they would feel about making a Friends web page that would be hosted by Seminole County. The page would contain a link to the various agencies involved. FDOT commented that they don’t have a project specific web page. There was discussion and a request for each agency to check and find out if they can produce a web page that explains their participation in the lake restoration. This will be dealt with in future meetings.
There was discussion about that Seminole County is doing small area study to define future land-use of the area north of the lake. There should be a decision made in the fall. Will have community meeting in month.
There was discussion about the Turnpike/ Lake Mary Blvd. corridor connecting SR 417 and SR 415. Widening 415 out to I95. County said they received SJRWMD permit. USACOE said they didn’t and will not until they have reviewed comment.
Chairman King stated Winter Springs has begun a feasibility study of water withdrawal from the lake.
Chairman King stated federal government is giving money to the airport to buy out the houses around the airport, which must be replaced with aviation related development.
Regina Loving, SJRWMD, discussed the storm water treatment program underway and provided maps of potential sights.
Tom McCord questioned details in the maps presented by Regina. These areas are problem defined by Seminole County and not the SJRWMD.
Cecilia Hieght, Sierra Club, stated that at a SJRWMD meeting held in Altamonte Springs Lake Jesup was well represented.
Florida Forever document was discussed.
