Call to Order- Chairman King called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.
Introductions - Chairman King asked for self introductions.
Minutes - The minutes of the August 2006 meeting were not available.

1135 Modeling - Pete Milam, ACE - Mr. Milam updated the group on the history of internal policy changes that could have affected the project, but delivered the good news that there will be no policy change and no time constraints on the completion of the modeling study.
Chairman King and Mr. Milam discussed his question regarding the discrepancy in the modeling numbers between the restricted flow through Government Cut and the wide open flow through Government Cut. Mr. Milan said he would try to address this and the other questions raised by Chairman King at a field meeting that will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, which will include representative from SJRWMD, FFWCC and the Friends. Chairman King said he would come prepared.

State Road 417 - Allison Stettner, Turnpike Enterprise, gave an overview of the upcoming public information meeting, which will be held at the Sanford Civic Center on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Based on questions from the group, Fred Gaines addressed the mitigation plans being explored by Turnpike Enterprise as an alternative to treating runoff from the bridge. Fred Gaines said the Friends have been supplied with a matrix of the alternatives and will have an opportunity to comment on the alternatives.

Site 10/Muck Disposal - Ed Hayes, FFWCC - Mr. Hayes was not in attendance, but Chairman King presented a conceptual planting schedule, prepared by Mr. Hayes, for the shoreline after the dredging is completed.

SJRWMD - Regina Lovings Morse reported that the kick-off meeting for the Solary Canal project will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Ms. Morse said she had received an application package for the Winter Springs Surface Water Withdrawal Project > She said the Friends need to submit their comment immediately to Elizabeth Thomas and Mike McGovern and copy her.
Ms. Morse reported several companies are bidding on the pay-for-performance project on Lake Jesup.
Ms. Morse provided the new sampling sites on Lake Jesup.

Seminole County Natural Lands - Pat Burkett gave an overview of the upcoming voter referendum, which would renew the Natural Lands Program.
